- to provide information which serves as basis for the design and implementation of two larger material recovery facilities in Bogotá
- campaigns for the education of informal waste pickers (i.e."scavengers"), carried out at La Alquería
- integration of cooperatives of informal scavengers, which have organized themselves and have taken part in the educational campaign

Contribution to Capacity Building and Education
These workplaces are available only for members of organized cooperatives, which have taken part in the educational process within the PDR. As a result of the organization of scavengers into cooperatives, their quality of life will improve, since their working conditions will be secured.
For population in general the educational programs and information diffusion by media will increase awareness referring waste separation and recycling.
